The Lord promises in Proverbs 28:20 that “A faithful man will abound with blessing.”
Dick Mills often referred to God’s reciprocity and that God was a reciprocal Holy God.
Reciprocity means “Exchanging things with others for mutual benefit, and responding to a positive action with another positive action.” (Merriam Webster Dictionary) God promises in His Word a corresponding action to obedience to Him.
For example, when His Word promises that if you will call on Him, He will answer. (Jeremiah 33:3). When you seek Him you will find Him.
Matthew 6:33 “Seek First the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
The Father rewards those who seek Him in the secret place.
He rewards those who give. That the amount given matters because it represents the amount of giving back, the reciprocity that comes back to the giver.
Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
I Corinthians 15:58 “Be steadfast immovable, always abounding in the word of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 8:7 “As you abound in everything, in faith in speech in knowledge in all diligence…”
Romans 5:20 “Where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you. May abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Galations 6:7-8: “God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”
Proverbs 11:24 “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
Proverbs 11:25 “The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.”
Proverbs 11:28 “the righteous will flourish like foliage.”
I Thessalonians 4:1 “We urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God.”
God’s steps,
-His protocol is for us to be obedient to Him and He is pleased with that.
-He honors the giver.
-He blesses the faithful.
-He rewards the diligent.
It isn’t time to give up, it is time to put one foot in front of the other and be faithful. Steadfast. God honors that. He blesses people who are consistent, steadfast, immovable.
