Tired of Waiting
Be sure to see the first part of Tired of Waiting HERE There are a lot of good nuggets of wisdom and scriptural insight in the first segment Tired of Waiting.
We get tired of waiting, yet God has purpose in the period of time. The waiting has value in God’s plan.

As a young girl I remember my parents discussing waiting for the Lord to answer a prayer. They had asked the Lord for direction. My father (Dick Mills) said he was going to fast and spend time praying. He needed to hear from the Lord.
My mother let out a big sigh and muttered something about having to wait. Wait to hear from the Lord. Looking back I know now she didn’t want the wait.
Waiting with Anxiety
There is a different kind of waiting. A waiting with anxiety. One that brings confusion the longer it lasts. Waiting with upset emotions. Waiting and hoping for a desired outcome until completely depleted on every level. Physically and emotionally. Not understanding why there is no change in the situation.
The funny thing is my parents did hear from the Lord and He gave them an answer.

Their finances had cut off and my mother’s concern was that they didn’t have enough money for payroll for the office staff nor did they have enough money for groceries, the car payment and to pay the monthly bills.
Waiting and the Process
I watched this process my entire life.

*They would pray about something they needed an answer to.
*Oftentimes fasting along with a prayerful attitude seeking the Lord.
*Then they would wait.
Wait to hear from the Lord. Or get a scripture directing them what to do.
In this case they needed income to solve their financial needs.
I believe almost 2 days went by and I came home from high school and my dad joyously said “the Lord gave me a picture.” He had heard from the Lord and knew what to do.

I asked him what the picture was and he said it was of a book in his library.
My curiosity was peaked.
“What book?”
He then went on to tell me that he had thrown it away and there was a reason why. He said he had gone overseas that summer and had gone to an old bookstore and purchased several out of print books on the Bible, Christian faith, early Christian history and Christian hymn books. In the lot of old books that were over 100 years old, there was a book on religions.
He didn’t think much of it. But during the night of his prayer and fasting the Lord woke him up with a picture of this book and told him he needed to look in it to understand and then get rid of it. I believe he burned it.

*The book had Christian history among other spiritualistic history that leaned towards witchcraft and sorcery and actually had hexes and curses in it. Along with the hexes and curses, there were chants, how to levitate a person and conjure a spirit. It was filled with curses, words to say when performing witch type rituals.
He had had no idea.
But because his resources financially had dried up, and because he was fine tuning his spiritual ear to hear from the Lord, the Lord was able to specifically show him this book was of the Devil. It had no place in his Library filled with books that were about the move of the Holy Spirit and more. (Thousands of books actually!)
I watched them do this for years. Dad knew if something happened that wasn’t in the flow of the blessings, and presence of God he needed to find out why. God’s perspective is clear. Waiting on Him means you are waiting for Him to answer and to respond.
He says in Jeremiah 33:3 “Call upon me and I will answer you and show you things you don’t know.”

We wait on the Lord to speak to us and then He will show us the things we don’t know.
We lift our prayers to the Lord. (often in the morning when we wake up thinking about our challenges facing us).
Psalms 5:3 “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”
Isaiah 25:9“And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
Scriptures compiled by Dick Mills and Debbie (Mills) Booth
He says He will save us. He is our salvation because He is our Savior.
God’s perspective is clear.
Waiting on Him means you are waiting for Him to answer and to respond. Waiting on Him also means you need Him to move, and that you are not able to bring about a desired change in an impossible situation. You need Him to move and things could possibly be desperate.
If you need God to move, pray and direct your prayer to Him. Ask Him for the things you are needing.(Matthew 6:33) Believe that as you have waited for Him He will come, He will answer and He will save. (Isaiah 25:9)

In conclusion, God’s Word is true. HIs Words are true. He says to pray and believe He will answer. If your waiting has lasted and gone on far too long, pray and ask God if there is something you haven’t seen…yet. If there is something you need to do that you haven’t done…yet.
Pray and ask God to show you what you need to see, find out and know so that you can respond accordingly and be obedient and do what He requests of you in this season.
God will save. You will be glad that you have waited. (Isaiah 25:9)
