The Sovereign Lord never does anything without revealing His plan to His servants, the prophets. (Amos 3:7)
Beginning: Understanding God’s Timing
The Lord says He will tell you and show you things to come. We see this in His Word, so we know this is what He has spoken and this is what He will do.
“The Lord says He will tell you and show you things to come. We see this in His Word, so we know this is what He has spoken and this is what He will do.” Deborah Booth
One of the beautiful functions of the Holy Spirit is to reveal our future to us. John 16:13 promises that the Holy Spirit will show us things to come.
Isaiah 45:11 encourages us to inquire of the Lord about our future, and Psalm 25:14 tells us that all His plans regarding our future are available to us because of covenant relationships.
Jeremiah 33:3, says when we call on Him He will speak to us, answer us and show us things we don’t know.
It’s crucial to recognize that God is at work on multiple levels:
- Internationally: The Lord is at work in the world’s arena. God isn’t limited to one area in the earth.
- Locally: The Lord is at work in His church. People of God praying, seeking Him, growing in faith, learning how to walk with Him. God is using people surrendered to Him.
Individually: The Lord is at work in the lives of each believer. Those who seek Him are promised to be found by Him.
The Collision of Forces
As we walk with the Lord and focus our eyes on Him, the world is quickly running the opposite direction and opposing God, righteousness, values at every point.
“Opposition is part of the Christian walk in that Satan is at work to destroy all that God has purposed. And that is a people that live for Jesus who is Jehovah the One True God.” Deborah Booth

Romans 9:28 speaks of the swift work the Lord is doing and finishing on earth speedily.
“We see two powerful forces hurtling toward a collision course with destiny: the forces of evil and the forces of righteousness. ” Dick Mills
The visible events in the world indicate that all evil is intensifying and heading toward its climax. The Anti-Christ spirit is present in the world, and Christians are becoming objects of venomous hostility from Satan’s camp.
God’s Intervention and Our Response
The Good News is that the Lord steps into the arena and vindicates the righteous when the hostility becomes threatening or overpowering. David said in Psalm 119:126, “It is time for you to work, O Lord.” As Christians endure suffering and intensifying hostility, the Lord’s intervention also increases.

What do you as a Christian believer do?
Growing Closer to God
In these challenging times, it is essential to grow closer to God and strengthen our faith. Here are three steps to help you in your walk with God, regardless of what you face in life:
- Seek Revelation: Regularly ask the Holy Spirit to show you things to come, as promised in John 16:13. “ However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
- Inquire of the Lord: Follow Isaiah 45:11 and actively seek God’s guidance about your future. “Thus says the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.”
- Embrace Covenant Relationships: Remember Psalm 25:14, and cherish your covenant relationship with God, knowing that His plans for your future are revealed through this bond. “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.”
God’s purpose and plan is for people to come to Jesus. Experience salvation from the Savior. He sent this in motion.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

The Lord will tell you things to come. But first, start at the beginning. Salvation is crucial. It is the beginning of the Christian walk and Christian living.
If you need to renew your relationship with the Lord again, then pray this prayer again.

We have this one life to live for Jesus. What an incredible opportunity to live for Jesus, love Jesus, fulfill His purpose for our lives, and to live in the presence of God!
The Lord will tell you, tell you what you need to know, things you have questions about, but first get closer so you can hear the sound of His voice when He speaks.
To God Be All the Glory,
