Know What God’s Word says
Know what God’s Word says, know that He does not move contrary to His Word. In the previous post “Know that you know” HERE
Let’s take a look at what God’s Word says, and this is what we know, what we believe, stand on, pray in regards to and trust-
Know God is the Same
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.“
I Peter 4:12 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;”
Don’t submit to circumstances, fiery trial, spiritual attack that are from the Devil- God’s Word says don’t be surprised, but also don’t submit thinking it is from God.
God’s Word says in James 4:7,8 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil,and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
Know God’s Plan
He gives us the plan –
- Submit to God (daily, every day for life)
- Resist the Devil so He will flee, run, go the other way
- Come near to God and God will come near to you.
- Wash your hands (repent of sin)
- Repent to purify your heart, making room for God and getting rid of anything that takes up space where He belongs.
- Be single minded, eyes focused on Jesus.
God’s Word says in 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 “‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

Our stance is to cast down the thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. His Word. His character, His way of doing things, His commands, His purpose and direction for us.
Know His Word, Know His Plan
His Word shows us His plan. When you know His Word you will also know His plan.
His plan is not for sickness, heartache, disaster and absolute collapse. Rather His Word says what His plan, His desire is for us. This is what we need to know that we know.
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
Don’t resign yourself to thinking God let this happen so I must endure, I must acquiesce, I must submit.
Rather Jesus said this is how you should pray “on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6)
This was His view point which is based on God’s character. He knew that the earth was in jeopardy because of Satan’s corruption. But He also spoke and said to pray, to ask God to come into the situation and bring His purpose and plan to the earth. The opposite of Satans plan which is to ‘kill, steal and destroy.’ (John 10:10)
God’s plan was to bring life that was abundant, filled with His Spirit, His plan, His purpose and power. (John 10:10) “For I have come to give life and life more abundantly.”
I remember my father Dick Mills saying that when people get off track it is often because they get their eyes off what God has done, and what God has said. They look at their circumstances and get heart sick from what they see. In the end their steps become off track because their eyes became off track.
Stay on Track
I believe we are to stay ‘on track.’ God’s Word and His character, His purpose and plan are for us each day so that we don’t get off track and lose our way.
When you know what God promises in His Word, that is what you cling to, regardless of circumstances that change from day to day.
Proverbs 4:21 “Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.”
