A good word for you today is that God heals. God has healing for you and healing is in the Bible! His Word, His presence and His Name all point to Him as the healer.
Healing Scriptures
Healing scriptures bring comfort when you are faced with a diagnosis. They point to God’s purpose and that is for health and wholeness. 3 John 2 says “Beloved I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”
Just like David in the Old Testament faced Goliath, who was an enemy to God’s chosen people, we face sickness and disease which are enemies to God’s people.
In I Samuel 17:45,46a, “David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 Today the Lord will conquer you,”
Never let yourself think if this sickness came on me, it must be that God allowed it or that it was God’s will. No. Just like David and other children of God in the Bible faced adversaries, and trials, we too face adversaries.
However, the presence of an adversary doesn’t mean that is God’s will or purpose for it. Can you imagine for a moment if David would have looked at Goliath and thought ‘this must be God’s will for us because He allowed it?’
God meant for David to fight back with what He had-rocks and a slingshot.
God meant for him to fight the giant, to conquer him, not to back down.
See what David said in the scripture above “You come to me with sword, spear and javelin (physical destruction and attack) but I come against you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.”
God wanted him to use the power God had put within him to fight against what wasn’t right. Sickness and disease are not right.
God’s Will Be Done
Even Jesus said to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” There is no sickness and disease in heaven. We know what God’s Will is, it is what His Word says.
Sickness and disease are things that came from the Satan’s fall from heaven. In the garden of Eden Satan brought destruction with him. He found Adam and Eve, spoke to them and His words caused them to begin to question God.
Satan immediately started in on Eve leading her to question God whether He meant what He said about eating from the fruit of the tree of good and evil. She immediately distrusted God’s Words. All of that led to evil, which led to disease, sickness, strife and death.
God meant for there to be wholeness in the garden of Eden.
When we face an illness, we must approach it the same way we would face an adversary. Speak to it with the Word of God and the power of God. God’s Word is our gameplan that brings faith into the diagnosis. What does God say about healing?
“This illness is coming against God’s healing power and His healing touch for me, so I come against it in the ‘name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.”

What the Bible Says
What the Bible says is that healing power is in God’s name. In Hebrew, rapha means “to heal.” So Jehovah Rapha means “the Lord who heals.” This name for God appears for the first time in the Bible in Exodus 15:26.
Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals speaks His Word, and HIs Word brings healing.
Psalm 107:20 “He sent His Word and healed them of all their diseases (destructions). (NKJV)
