Deliverance – noun1. the action of being rescued or set free.”prayers for deliverance” (Oxford English Dictionary)
No one wakes up and thinks “I know the cell door has been opened and my chains are gone, but I think I will stay here…”
Spiritual – Physical – Financial – Mental – Emotional Restoration – Full Deliverance
Deliverance comes to a believer through the Name of the Lord, the Power of God, the Word of God, prayer, running from the captor and running to the deliverer.

Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
God Gives Us Freedom
Romans 8:32, “He that spared not His own son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
I Timothy 6:17, “Trust in the Living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.”
2 Corinthians 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work.”
Jeremiah 40:4, “But now, behold, I am freeing you today from the chains that were on your wrists.”

Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,”

2 Chronicles 25:9b, “The Lord is able to give you much more than this.”
Freedom from the chain of poverty, barely enough, sickness, disease, mental torment, physical pain, spiritual lack.
Deliverance is freedom. Freedom from the thing or the person who kept you bound. Being bound is being prisoner to the thing or person.
Christ comes to set men free. To bring deliverance that would otherwise not come.

John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Jesus the Deliverer
The scriptures point to Christ the deliverer, and Satan the thief as the prison guard.
Psalm 112:1 + 3, “The man that fears the Lord, that delights greatly in His Commandments. His offspring shall be mighty upon the earth. Wealth and riches shall be in his house.”
Psalm 32:7, “You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. “
Key thought: The Lord brought about deliverance throughout the Bible, from an oppressor. God was not in the oppressing. That hardship was caused by the enemy. It is still caused from the enemy. He brought deliverance, breakthrough, answer to prayer, freedom from hardship and pain.
Acts 13:38,39, “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. “

His promises show His character to us in that He promises deliverance.
Did you know throughout the Bible, that the Israelites became oppressed when they turned away from following God? Judges 2 describes how God promised deliverance to them, because of His covenant He made with their ancestors. Yet they turned away, followed false Gods.
The stories are told over and over again. The Israelites would cry out for help, and God would answer those prayers and deliver them.
Deliverance Comes From God
Deliverance comes from God.
Proverbs 21:31, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.”
We too must be prepared. Eyes open, aware of our surroundings, and what is happening. But our focus is on the Lord. He is coming and He is coming to deliver.

Jeremiah 17:14, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.”
Freed From Prison
Psalm 142:7, “Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name;
The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”
We are not meant to live in prison, chained in a prison cell. Jesus Christ your Savior has freed you from prison.
God in His ultimate love for us, and desire to mend the broken relationship of man gave us a Savior. One who saves. One who walks into the cell of our prison and puts the key in the lock (what we call salvation) and unlocks the lock. He points to the door of the cell and tells us we are free.
Why would we stay? How could we even think of remaining in the jail cell? When our deliverer has come into our lives and told us we are free.
Freedom
2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Galatians 5:1, ” It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

“Father in Jesus Name we agree in prayer for deliverance to come. For oppression, depression, anxiety, turmoil to leave. You Lord have come and have saved us. Lord we ask you today to change us. To believe your Word, and to live by faith that what you have spoken you have done. You will continue to free us, and bring us out of bondage.”
In the mighty Name that is above every name, Jesus. Amen.”
