From this day forward I will bless you. God promises to bless and He goes further to say we are blessed when we wait for Him.

Waiting on God is purposeful and there are many scriptures reflecting God’s value on waiting.
Often in the Old Testament when the Israelites God’s chosen people strayed away from His plan, there were problems. It is simple to say He had good plans for them, a land of milk and honey, a place He had strategically prepared for them.
And in return they would honor Him, Worship Him and realize that He is good and He is Holy. This was what God wanted.
But when they strayed, and sinned, He would speak to them prophetically with correction so that they would correct their wayward ways, humble themselves and repent.

And they did. They would repent turn back to the Lord and things changed.
This happened over and over again in the Old. Testament.
Once they would repent He would again help them and deliver them. Throughout the Old Testament the children of Israel would be captured by the enemy, or a plague would sweep through their people and they would cry out to God to help them.
But in Haggai, the people had gotten sloppy and had not taken care of the place where His holiness would dwell, nor had they regarded His guidelines for holiness.
Blessing & Repentance
The prophet Haggai speaks of this process and what they should be doing. God had spoken through the prophet to the people reminding them that He was with them.

Haggai 1 speaks of God being with them, and that the people feared and honored the Lord
But in chapter 2 of Haggai, they had defiled that which was Holy.
God fussed at them through the prophet Haggai.
Along with His correction He also spoke to them what was to come. What His plan was and what He really wanted to do with His people.
The plan was for His presence to visit them and be with them in His House. That His glory would be greater with them than it had been in its former house.

Blessing & Obedience
Blessing & obedience happens to believers that really do want to live for the Lord.
God wants us to willfully follow Him and be obedient. He promises that when we do He will come, living for Him, seeking Him that He won’t withhold His plan, His blessings, or HIs covenant from us.
His presence will be with us, and His Word will come to pass in our lives.
Psalm 84:11 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
The above scripture again signifies His plan and HIs purpose. What God gives to us as His followers.

No good thing will He withhold from believers that walk uprightly.
Haggai 2:19 “Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.”

Proverbs 28:20a “A faithful man shall abound with blessings”
Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
Jeremiah 33:6 “I will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.”
I Kings 18:41 “There is a sound of abundance of rain.”

John 10:10 “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
Ephesians 1:7,8 “According to the riches of His grace which He made abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.”
Isaiah 29:14a “Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder”
Be faithful, walk uprightly, do good work and walk and please God. (I Thessalonians 4:1)
There is more. More of God’s presence, provision and blessings as our labor is not in vain in the Lord. (I Corinthians 15:58)
