Faith Building & God’s Word

Dick Mills founded DMM to encourage and strengthen Christians all over the world with his unique gift of prophetic Scripture and Bible study. He gave words of wisdom, knowledge and encouragement to over 1,000,000 people in his lifetime. These words were prophetic, and scripturally based and proved to be a powerful combination. Lifting individual’s Christian faith with his anointed personal, powerful, and experiential ministry. We humbly continue the work of personal ministry and Bible study.

Vision & Goals

Our vision is to provide a way for believers to see, hear, read and run with the prophetic and Holy Spirit inspired Word of God. To stay on their feet (Job 4:4), stay filled and change the earth till the return of our Savior. We believe our implementing our vision will produce our God given goal of encouraging, strengthening and helping build the body of Christ into strong warriors.

As the daughter of Dick and Betty Mills, I was fortunate to travel with my parents all over the nation and eventually parts of the world. My father’s gift was extra-ordinary in some ways. He had memorized thousands of scriptures by self-disciplining himself to get up at 4:00 each morning and from 4:00-6;00 he would study scriptures, passages and Bible stories.

He later told me that studying scriptures by topic was of great interest to him. He would then find out the meaning of certain words in those scripture passages, and study them further by getting a Strong’s Concordance and other Bible study books.

Memorizing Started With Familiarizing

He later taught himself Hebrew and Greek so he could learn the meaning of the words in the scriptures, giving more and more clarification to him.

My dad had a photographic memory, which enabled him to memorize scriptures. And scriptures in bundles.

He told me that he loved the Thompson Chain reference Bible because it while taking him to the scripture he was looking up, to the side it would show the next scripture that was in the same theme, or had the same wording. Going to the next scripture would also lead to another connecting scripture.

The TCR stands apart from other study Bibles in that it doesn’t include verse-by-verse commentary. Instead, it combines a 100,000-entry topical chain-reference system with an extensive topical index that connects over 8,000 topics. This system allows Scripture to interpret Scripture, making it an excellent, unbiased study Bible for anyone in any denomination.

He loved that he could look up a group of scriptures on the same topics. The topics are identified in the margin of the Bible with a reference to the next verse in the chain

Mnemonic

This style of memorizing is referred to as MNEMIC-“assisting or intended to assist the memory.”

Using a song, or a rhyme, or procedural plan(all the same states, word themes, sports teams, capitals, etc.) for memorizing something.

Getting up at 4 each morning my father would make himself coffee with cream, and then begin to read and study scriptures that were grouped into topics.

He would group them together in a list format and begin to memorize them, reading them and reciting them out loud. He intentionally was trying to memorize scriptures and passages.

7700+ Scripture Promises

He had a brilliant mind and said reading was not enough. He wanted to ‘know’ the Bible. After 2 years alone, he began to add up and total all the scriptures he had familiarized himself with and knew it was in the thousands. Upwards of 7700 scriptures which he said were primarily ‘scripture promises.’ He had a mind for words as a Theologian and a mind for numbers. this allowed him to memorize the scripture references as well.

  1. Scripture promises are different in the sense that they said what God would do. Usually there was a prerequisite.

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 is a primary promise from God’s Word.

He further decided that marking his Bible would assist him in memorizing scriptures in topical themes.

Bible Marking Code

If you would like our short little Bible Marking code, we have made it available HERE  for you. *Be sure to see all the free Bible resources for your personal Bible study in our bookstore.

He would mark salvation scriptures, scriptures on the resurrection, healing, safety, the Holy Spirit and more by color coding them. This helped him locate specific scriptures when ministering.

It wasn’t until later that these scriptures became a pivotal part of his ministering to people in services.

He had paper tablets printed for my mother to write the scriptures on.

After finishing up school at Life Bible College in Los Angeles he began speaking publicly in churches. While he was ministering he would notice people that would just stand out to him during the service.
Dynamic black and white photo of a concert audience with hands raised, capturing the energy of live music. At the end of his services he would pray for the sick and the infirm, ministering to people who came forward for prayer.

One of the first services, where my father felt the Lord urge him to give someone a scripture as a prophetic word was in 1952 in Southern California.

A missionary couple came to the front of the church, wanting prayer. A woman and her husband had been missionaries, and were now back stateside. They were in their 70’s. With no plans on returning to the missionary field again. But she had a letter requesting them to do just that. In her Bible she held the letter.

Give Her a Scripture

Not knowing any of this, the Lord said to my father to ‘give her a scripture.’

But since this was a new thing, and he had not been ministering in this capacity he wasn’t comfortable giving her a scripture.

However it was a strong impulse from the Lord, so he walked up to her and asked her if it would be ok if he gave her a word, a scripture.  The couple nodded, and she said yes.

Dad gave her the scripture, that was a go ahead and move forward scripture. It was a clear direction scripture.

She looked at him and opened her Bible and pointed to that very scripture where the pages were worn, and that exact scripture was marked.

It was the SAME scripture the Lord had given them the first time when they were called into the ministry many many years prior.

As young believers the Lord had called them into the ministry and given them this scripture as their open door scripture. Again as mature, lifetime believers God was giving them the same scripture and word to continue their call as Missionaries.

The same scripture. At the beginning, and now years later my dad was giving them the scripture that caused them to go back to the mission field in South America.

God continued to bless their years and their efforts as they again heeded the call of God that was still on their lives.

This was a hallmark of his ministry. What he had studied for years, spending time memorizing, familiarizing and knowing the scriptures were the very words that when spoken to people prophetically in a ministry setting, changed peoples lives, often miraculously.

Our family loved being together, we still do, and always asked him to give us a word before everyone went home.

God’s Word is powerful (Hebrews 4:12).

It can also change your life. Open it and begin reading, searching, studying and praying those very God breathed Words over your life. Breathe the life of God into your impossible situation. God’s Word will do what countless hours of trying to figure things out can’t do.

Quicken – means to ‘make alive’. When God quickened Adam it was when He breathed the breath of life into Adam and the breath brought him to life. (Genesis 2:7)

God quickens us as well with His Word. When we read His Word, pray and say His Word, something happens. We are made alive, again. Life comes.

Psalm 119:25-28“My soul cleaves unto the dust: quicken me according to your word. 26 I have declared my ways, and you heard me: teach me your statutes.27 Make me to understand the way of your precepts: so shall I talk of your wondrous works.28 My soul melts for heaviness: strengthen me according unto thy word.”

Job 33:4 “

The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

Father in Jesus’ Name, breathe on us the breath of life. We pray that just as you breathed life into Adam and gave him life, that you would breathe in us. Breathe the breath of life into our spirits, our soul, our bodies. We know you will bring us to life with your spirit. (Psalm 119:25, Genesis 2:7)

“The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now quickens our mortal bodies.” (Romans 8:11)

God we thank you for your resurrection power. We pray for that power to touch our lives, our marriages, families, finances, and our future.

We pray your will be done in our lives, and we come against Satan’s will from being done. (John 10:10, Matthew 6)

We want all of you we can get. Your presence, your power, your Holy Spirit. Thank you God for the Holy Spirit.

In your precious name Jesus, the Name above every name.

Amen.

Blessings to you,

Debbie (Mills) Booth

We believe every word God has spoken still carries power and the life of the Almighty within them.

Don’t neglect praying them and speaking them. They have power to change you today and change your future.

Good afternoon from the UK. I received a very profound prophecy from Dick Mills many years ago in London. He said I have the capacity for storage of the promises and that I would be a walking bible in two years. He said God would give me recall (of the scriptures) when I speak to people. It seems very much the same gift he had. I have started my commitment to scripture memorisation and bible study. I would really love to know if he had to complete 2 years of scripture memorisation of the 7700 promises before the gift of recalling the scriptures was activated or if God started using this gift from the moment he started memorising the scriptures. This would be very helpful for me.
Also, are there any members of his family who operate in this gift?

Good morning Kathleen, this is great. I loved reading this. I remember my dad saying to the level of scriptures he memorized he was able to use those scriptures in ministering to people. Think of it like this when you deposit $500.00 into the bank that is how much you are able to withdraw and use. If you deposit more into your account you can use more. Memorize more and youll be able to fluently minister with gOds Words.
Gods word can be used though to give and touch peoples lives. Whether its one scripture or more. And yes both my brother and I operate in this gift,
      blessings,

    Good afternoon Deborah

Thank you so much for your reply. I hadn’t realised you had responded otherwise I would have replied months ago. I appreciate your words of encouragement which will really help. Oh wow that’s amazing that both you and your brother also minister with the same gift. May I ask you – how does the recall come when you speak to people? Do you say first ” I have a good for you” and then it comes or some other way?

God’s richest blessings on you and your family.

Good morning Kathleen. When I was young I remember asking my father the same question He said that when H would say “I have a good word for you,”that the words would come. Like turning a faucet on and then the water comes. But he said you have to already have access to the water for it to flow. So you memorize the and store them in your heart spirit soul in mind. Then when you go to minister, you access him by turning the faucet on. For me, I pray in the spirit. Then when I’m in a strain, I take the person‘s hand. I tell him I have a good word for them if possible, and then the first scriptures that come to my mind, I believe that’s the Holy Spirit, giving me those scriptures and as I start to minister usually more come in it creates a picture at least it does for me or it’s the orient good question Kathleen. Thank you so much for leaving a comment and reaching out. I really appreciate hearing from you. Deborah

Good evening Deborah. Thank you once again for taking the time to respond. That’s really interesting and very helpful information from your experience. There is no-one in the UK who ministers with this type of gift so this is very beneficial for me. I will do what you said. I’ve actually just started memorising by topic – something I understand your father Dick Mills used to do. I have a list of about 90+ so far but currently working of my 5th topic. If I’ve understood correctly: The Holy Spirit can only recall the scriptures I know from memory?

Good question. To have a valid prophetic ministry using scriptures (this is my point of view with my father as the point of reference) being familiar with the scriptures assists you when ministering. Praying for the right word can honestly be nerve racking! I would write out the main topics you are familiar with-healing, answers to prayer, having a baby, broken hearts, direction etc. Get 5-8 scriptures for each topic and familiarize yourself as you’ve probably done. My father said when he’d meet with someone usually a scripture would come or a thought. That thought would be topic oriented like ‘divorce,’ or ‘financial need.’ Then based on that he would give 2-4 scriptures, give a word of encouragement (usually don’t give up,) and then pray with them. Simple, straightforward and scripture based. I hope this helps!

Oh wow! I see. This is really an eye opener. So the revelation comes as a topic first and then followed by recall of the relevant scriptures. Amazing. Thank you for the advice. I”m doing just that. Do you know how many scriptures a day your father memorised?
Ps. Did you receive the recent payments I sent for the e-book(He spoke and I was Strengthened) and also The Spirit-filled Believers Devotional?
