I was blessed numerous times to receive a word from the Lord, through Dick Mills. Two years into five years of trying to conceive, Dick ministered to me Psalm 113:9, “He shall make the barren woman abide in the house as a joyful mother of children.”. Not only did that come to pass as I gave birth to my son, but that scripture promise gave me HOPE to get me through the next 3 years. This is God, through Dick Mills, delivering a positive, hope filled, encouraging word to individuals. I am so grateful that this ministry is continuing on, to bring that same hope filled “a good word from the Lord”.

Each time he (Dick Mills) came to our church, he would have me mention our kids’ names and then would give a word of prophecy for them, without seeing them.

On one occasion our daughter was engaged to be married and Dick said, “He’s not the one.” We had prayed and had felt good about the young man. However, we decided that our daughter, who also listened to God s voice, would know. We prayed for God to reveal it to her and to the young man. She had been hesitant to become engaged to start with.

They had kept themselves pure all through the relationship and had both been open to the Lord. As time progressed, we noticed a change in the young man’s thinking. The people he had stayed with had left our church and were attending a different church. Our daughter felt called to our church. My husband spoke to the young man privately about his commitment being not only to Sarah, our daughter but also to our church and its vision.

The young man was torn. We suggested that he be in another house where he was not being influenced by the people who lived there. He ended up moving locations to housesit a couple’s home who were traveling overseas in missions. He also went through a time of depression. I gave him scriptures to speak over his life and to help him think soundly. I knew he was in a battle with his mind. He was about to graduate ORU, and his parents came to see him. They convinced him that it was okay to call off the marriage because of his confusion. We agreed with his parents, and we called off the marriage.

God had the right young man waiting in the shadows and he knew he was to marry our daughter Sarah. About 2 years later Sarah married the right young man for her life. They are in the evangelistic worldwide ministry today and have 3 beautiful kids. God has used them in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and in teaching the Word of God throughout the nations.

Steve Peterson – I am Stephen Peterson, at the time of this word I pastored a church in Ogden Utah, Victory Christian

I had so many encounters with Dick and every one of them had a positive effect on my life-this one stood out for how quickly it started to manifest its promise-I was driving to a private pastors’ prayer meeting and Dick called as I was driving. He said ”God is going to take you where you have never gone, you will do what you’ve never done and say what you have never said”!

Well, I loved that, we talked for another minute, and he hung up. This was not a prayer meeting I was looking forward to, these pastors believed very little in the power or promises of God, they were good men, but I could not share why I was so excited about the phone call and promise I just received-we prayed for a while and broke for coffee. That’s when one of the pastors asked me a question, would I be interested in co-hosting a tv show about the Bible-others wanted that spot but that pastor thought I would be the best at it.

It was less than 90 minutes after the call from Dick and his prophetic promise to me a brand new door of broadcasting opened that I didn’t know existed-by the way I love radio much more than tv-and here was the first part being fulfilled, God was taking me where I had never gone before! It only makes sense that this new part of the journey started with a prophetic promise from Dick Mills

Another time, was in a large church in San Jose California , Dick was teaching in an afternoon seminar with several hundred people.

Dick picked me out of the audience and gave me this  word, Hebrews 12:1-“let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”-then he told a short story that better defined that verse for me-he said there are lots of men of power for the hour, but after 60 minutes they will be gone and you will still be going strong, but you are built for the long haul, it’s a marathon and not a sixty yard dash to glory.

I was just shy enough and easily overwhelmed by the abundance of talented, anointed men and women of God in ministry at the time-but that verse hit me with the force of a sledge hammer, and at the time I was looking for a quick break through, overnight success, but that is not what God had or has for me, I’m built for the long haul, the marathon, an endurance runner.

That verse has ‘spoken’ to me so many times over the years. Each time it seems to have a slightly different effect and emphasis. In fact, it spoke to me this evening as I was thinking about something else entirely-it spoke healing to me, fresh anointing and restoring, redefining this next part of my life.

It’s because it’s the Word of God, but when Dick Mills spoke it to me  more than 40 years ago, it became my personal word from God and it’s still speaking, directing , instructing, encouraging,  and feeding me

Thank God for the living breathing Word of God and for someone like Dick Mills who made it come alive to me.

As I said that same word is still very much alive and speaking to me!
